Our memberships program intends to provide our members with access to exclusive events, such as film screenings, workshops, speaker events, flash film challenges, and networking functions. These will occur during and/or outside of DFS’s weekly general meetings. Starting during the 2026-27 school year, a paid membership will be officially be required for all members. This membership is directed towards funding DFS productions, events, and operational costs.

In “reinventing the reel,” DFS has committed to pushing the boundaries of filmmaking since its founding during the 2013-14 academic year. As a collective of new and experienced filmmakers who share a common interest and commitment to create films, we serve as an educational opportunity for aspiring filmmakers who hope to break into the film industry, offering invaluable skills and hands-on production experiences where members learn alongside their UC Davis education.
